A robot designed from a partnership project between Parana State University (Unioeste), in Foz do Iguaçu, Itaipu Binacional, and the Itaipu Technology Park (PTI) will be donated to three hospitals in the region, two going to Foz do Iguaçu and the other one to Cascavel.

Each unit will receive a model of a robot that has ultraviolet lamps C with germicidal action, which means it kills fungus, virus, bacteria and can also be used in internal areas.

According to Unioeste professor Antonio Marcos Hachisuca, the objective is that the robots can support in the cleaning and disinfection of hospitals. It’s another tool to help protect the environment. However, this doesn´t eliminate the cleaning methods which are already used, but it contributes, it is another help in sanitation.

In addition to the hospitals, Itaipu will use a model of the robot to help plant sanitation as part of the plan of the return of tourism, as soon as possible.
